Five years, no beers

Five years, no alcohol.

People are generally surprised when they find out I don’t drink. Which always surprises me, with the rising amount of young people especially choosing sobriety, and a bunch of peers I know being sober-curious or sober as well.

The ‘Making it in the Creative Industry: A Practical Guide’ by Creative Mentor Network and AnalogFolk states that according to a study, 43% of young working adults think that not drinking alcohol is a barrier to fitting in socially at work. It also says that when you don’t drink, or even just don’t fancy one, you’re often not considered a team player… and while that last bit is tongue-in-cheek, it’s also kinda true.

And even though the pub isn’t always a place I find myself because of this, I love the culture of it as much as the next person — there’s almost no better place to hang out with your team — friendships are forged and stories are swapped, all through the liquid lubrication of Dutch courage.

Invite your sober pals too — we can look after your bags and have a 0% 🍻
